Booking Logs and Recent Arrests

For a person who has entered state custody or VADOC supervision, the VADOC locator may find a record the county jail cannot. It is updated daily but warns that information may still be inaccurate or old. Name mode needs at least the first three letters of the first name and a full last name. A seven-digit DOC ID is an alternate search key. The Community Corrections directory identifies the state district offices that supervise eligible probationers and parolees.
Patrick Booking Charges Can Change
The booking charge reflects what the arresting officer and jail recorded at intake. The Commonwealth's Attorney may later file, amend, reduce, or decline charges, and a grand jury may return a different indictment. A magistrate's bond decision also answers a release question, not guilt. Compare the arrest entry with the clerk's latest charge and final order before deciding what occurred.
A district result marked "certified to grand jury" means the felony passed a preliminary step. It does not mean conviction. The resulting Circuit Court prosecution may use another case number. Likewise, dismissal of a court charge does not by itself remove the source booking record. Virginia expungement and sealing rules govern later access, and the law effective on the filing date matters.
