This Is Not a Government Office. Patrick County Criminal History is a private reference site. It cannot retrieve or correct a record, conduct an official background check, or receive an expungement filing. The responsible government office must handle those services.
Need an Official Record?
Patrick County records are split by record type and stage. Route an official request as follows:
- Arrest, booking, jail, and sheriff incident records: Patrick County Sheriff's Office and Jail, 742 Commerce Street, P.O. Box 466, Stuart, VA 24171; 276-694-3161. Published records-counter hours were not available, so call before visiting.
- Felony trials, district appeals, certified orders, and expungement filings: Patrick Circuit Court Clerk, Hon. Morgan Boothe, 101 West Blue Ridge Street, P.O. Box 148, Stuart, VA 24171; 276-694-7213; hours 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Misdemeanors, traffic-criminal cases, and felony preliminary files: Patrick General District Court, 106 Rucker Street, Room 318, P.O. Box 149, Stuart, VA 24171; 276-694-7258; hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Juvenile and specified adult family-jurisdiction matters: Patrick Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court, 106 Rucker Street, Suite 320, P.O. Box 452, Stuart, VA 24171; 276-694-3927; hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Virginia repository records and SP-167 checks: Virginia Department of State Police, Criminal Justice Information Services Division, CARE/CCRE. The public SP-167 form is generated online, notarized, and mailed.
- Trooper-created reports: request the report from Virginia State Police rather than the Patrick County Sheriff's Office.
The Sheriff's Office does not publish a separate records-division name, online request form, fee schedule, or dedicated counter hours. Call 276-694-3161 and ask for the records custodian before traveling to 742 Commerce Street. For court material, call the clerk whose court handled the charge because the sheriff cannot certify a judicial case file.
