1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operating independently of every government office. It neither stores official criminal records nor has authority to retrieve records, conduct official checks, or file papers for a visitor.

The site identifies custodians such as the Patrick County Sheriff's Office, Patrick General District and Circuit Courts, VSP CARE/CCRE, and the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Public access depends on the source and governing law. The Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Code § 2.2-3700 et seq., applies to covered public records subject to exclusions, while § 19.2-389 limits dissemination of central criminal-history information.

2. Rules for Using This Site

As a condition of using the site, you must not:

• Use automated scrapers, bots, or similar extraction tools against the pages
• Attempt unauthorized entry into any system or restricted resource
• Use site information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
• Use the content for employment, housing, lending, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information found here or through a linked tool to intimidate, threaten, stalk, harass, or discriminate against a person. This prohibition is especially important for the Virginia Sex Offender and Crimes Against Minors Registry. Virginia makes registry information available for public safety, not for confrontation, vigilantism, exclusion from work or housing, or any unlawful act against a registrant. Misuse may violate criminal law.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Patrick County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA and does not create credit reports, background reports, or other consumer reports. The same is true of the services offered through this site for purposes of these terms. You agree that site or linked-tool data will not be used to:

• Make a credit decision or establish an insurance premium
• Screen a housing applicant or prospective renter
• Decide whether to employ or dismiss a person
• Determine eligibility for a permit, license, or public benefit
• Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

A person who needs a legally compliant report for a regulated purpose must use VSP CARE/CCRE when that official channel is authorized and appropriate, or a qualified FCRA-compliant provider.

5. No Legal Advice

The guides provide general information, not legal advice. They cannot determine how a Patrick County warrant, charge, conviction, expungement, or sealing rule affects an individual matter. Consult a Virginia-licensed attorney for that advice.

6. No Warranties

All site content and functions are supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

• A partner search will return complete or correctly matched results
• Every page is free from defects, errors, or security weaknesses
• The website will remain continuously available
• Information is complete, correct, or current at a particular time
